You are cordially invited to join us this fall when the Art Museum Partnership
presents the 2008 Directors Forum conference. Leaders of art museums nationwide
will gather in New York City on Sunday, October 26 – Tuesday, October 28 for an
extraordinary program.
This year’s Directors Forum will begin with an opening dinner sponsored by AXA Art
Insurance at the historic National Arts Club with keynote speaker Ford W. Bell, the
President and CEO of the American Association of Museums. Two full days of
informative sessions will follow at distinguished cultural institutions throughout
Manhattan including the New Museum of Contemporary Art and The Museum of
Modern Art. As you will see in the enclosed preliminary program, prominent
speakers will explore a variety of timely subjects. This year’s featured workshop is
“Personal Learning and Professional Development: Understanding and Overcoming
the Immunity to Change”, conducted by Robert Kegan, The Meehan Professor of
Adult Learning and Professional Development, and Co-Director of the Change
Leadership Group at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
Participants will also enjoy morning coffee receptions, a private luncheon at
Christie's, plus special evening receptions with a visit to the DC Moore Gallery.
The mission of the Art Museum Partnership and its programs is to identify and
provide educational opportunities for sharing information, resources and collections
among nonprofit art museums. These initiatives were established to primarily benefit
the small to medium-sized institutions that make up the largest segment in the field.
However, larger museums are strongly encouraged to participate in this vital
exchange.
If you are not already a member of the Art Museum Partnership, join us and save
$100 on Directors Forum registration! Membership provides an important investment
in The Art Museum Partnership to continue current programs and develop additional
initiatives. A membership option is included on the registration form.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Directors Forum. Space is very limited
and prompt registration is advised. For additional information, updates and hotel
